random adulty things, a haul?

hola. i actually didn't really know what to title this'a one. it's random home related things (plus a couple extras) that we got this year that made me happy. πŸ’ i actually had planned to make a post about being first time homeowners last year, now that we've had our house for two years... but i don't really know what to talk about. paul handles all the financials related to what we've done or put into the house, and i take care of the utilities. super exciting, right? anyway, any post i make with commentary on those topics will probably not be useful and i'm ill-informed because i'm not the one handling it..so yeah. sorry, but i scrapped that one. ~Lindsay

for christmas last year, my dad ordered me a blanket chest, because i have way too many blankets and didn't have any place to store them... i'd picked a pre-made one out from a local wood furniture store's website, but due to timelines, they ended up custom building this beautiful box for me. i love the size and the color we'd picked! it also has some suspension inside to keep the top open. and this coat rack is from the same store, which my dad got me for my birthday this year. by the way, it's still bare. lol. our hall closet is in the back of the house, so this coat rack will mostly be for guests.
i don't really know how it came about, but for the longest time (since i've started working?) i've been wanting a 'grown up' handbag. i didn't particularly have a preference of brand, just that it had to be a nice, black structured bag. anyway, i kinda splurged during the spring michael kors sale at dillards. πŸ˜…
when i was able to drink earlier this year....... we came across three roll estate distillery and their red stick cinnamon rum is sooooo good. i liked it by itself, and paul usually mixed it with something. we actually had to stop buying it because paul went through the first bottle in one week and these ain't cheap.
over the summer, i decided that my laptop wasn't cutting it, and built myself a new PC. i haven't had a custom built PC since middle school. that's a looong time, yo.
(i wish i had pictures of it, since it's not at my house.. but google "doggy pc case" πŸ˜‰, that's what my dad built me.) anyway, considering that this was the first time i built my own PC, this case was pretty easy to build into. i think the hardest part was pulling out the cabling for the power button panel because of the way they wrapped it into the cable management..and of course i wanted to reposition it on a different side of the case. otherwise, the only other issue i had was getting the RAM seated properly in the motherboard.. but once we overcame that hurdle, it's been smooth sailing, and i love it!
again, not incredibly exciting, but we bought a new bed for one of the guest rooms in our house. we'd upgraded from a two bedroom apartment to a three bedroom house and were lacking a bed for said bedroom. also, guess who received and partially assembled this bed during the early stages of pregnancy, not knowing they were pregnant..? πŸ™‹ that aside, we really like this bed a lot, and i don't remember what brand or model this is, but it was on amazon and we wanted a daybed with a pop-up trundle. i haven't entirely figured out this whole nursery thing yet, but the room that this bed's in will be baby's room eventually. the other bedroom in our house is basically my office / guest bedroom, because of my massive desk. yay for daybeds! lol.
soooo. the neato. paul was eyeing this guy for like the past year. and we finally bit the bullet because i've been complaining and having a hard time keeping the house clean these days. we've had him for about a month now, and we really like it. it maps your house on it's first run, and then you can use that app to draw no-go zones, set up schedules for particular zones, etc. and it'll just go on it's own. if it ever gets stuck, or the bin is full, the app will notify you. so nice! on a side note, it's really fun watching him, or coming home to finding lightweight things moved around. on a day he automatically went, i'd forgotten my flip flops on one side of the house and found them on the opposite. and sometimes he gets stuck in the legs of our dining chairs, and rearranges them to get unstuck. πŸ˜‚
