end of year reflection

hi all! it's been a while since i've been on here, huh? honestly a lot has really been going on this year, and i'm not entirely sure when i'll feel like catching up with the backlog of things i'd wanted to do. i do have photos of everything, but yeah... i think i'm going to keep this one relatively short and sweet because there's a lot going on in my mind at the moment, but i wanted to get something out there at the very least.

as mentioned in previous posts, i have been taking on a lot more responsibility around the office as steps toward my next promotion. these responsibilities are in addition to my regular 45 hours of client work. so, a lot of my stress this year stems from that. additionally, that stress has caused other issues that i don't particularly want to talk about to anyone, which paul is aware of. which also causes more stress. yay for cyclical things! highs for the year include a tooon of training that i've accomplished, training others, and interviewing candidates for employment. i also got a certification recently, so that's cool. last month, i got a bonus and finally upgraded phones from a 6 to XS max. it's been big transition! my brother in law finally got hired on, so that's another less worry, and i'll get a referral bonus soon. yesss. i also got a new car, which was great until last night. single vehicle--thankfully, but i caused a cosmetic problem that i'm incredibly frustrated as to how it could have possibly even happened.. so that's another added concern, and bye bye referral bonus. ugh. at the end of the year day, i'm glad we are able to afford to work past last night's irritatingly frustrating mistake, we will be able to laugh about it a long time from now (even though i'm annoyed as hell right now), and live comfortably even though our jobs have been stressing both of us pretty badly over the past year. to some degree, no pain no gain, i suppose.

please remember that if you're ever ridiculously stressed out, to take a step back. take some deep breaths and compose yourself. if possible or necessary, take time off and sort through the issues so that you can have some relief and be able to relax. know when to stop being a yes-man, and occasionally say no to things. if you don't have the time to do everything, don't commit to it to begin with and see if there are others who can help with that thing.

here's to welcoming 2019: a fresh start, a new decade 😉, and new experiences!

collective haul: sephora and other purchases

hi. 🙋 my name is lindsay, and i have a problem: i hit rouge status again...in july. 🙊
if i miss discussing certain items photographed in this post, it's because they're all repurchases that i've talked about at least a handful of times before in the past. ~Lindsay ^.~

i'm not really sure what the hype with this kush mascara is... it's good, but like it's kind of dry compared to other mascaras, and performs ok-ish. every time i wore it, it'd flake and i'd have random black spots or streaks on my face.... i have been liking this sample of boscia's cactus water moisturizer! it's an interesting texture.
i'm not going to lie, i definitely bought this inner beauty favorites set for the bottle. i know. that's super sad. but i wanted to try it and have oneeeee. and the fenty liner is pretty awesome. i kind of wish it was a brush tip, but given the formula it's understandable that it's a felt tip.
i'm also finally on the estee lauder double wear bandwagon. i tried it for the first time just the other day and it's a lot more lightweight than the double wear light---which by name makes no sense, but you know... 💁 i'm in the shade 1w2 for those wondering. also, for as much as i kinda criticized the idea of redeeming this 250 point perk, the notebook and pen are actually nice. i love this type of pen!

had i hauled the bum bum bath bombas before...? they're amazing, but $10 each is expensive! so be sure to wait for sephora sales!
also, i had a sample of the clinique acne+line correcting serum, it's nice. i also got a sample of the new ddm jelly and i don't like it. i didn't feel like it did much for me, so it got passed along. and because i got them on the same trip, pictured here are the loreal brow stylist and febreze unstopables melts in shimmer (like the downy unstopables for your laundry). this brow gel is not the same as the previous and i'm not sure how i feel about it yet.
got a few things from sally's, target(?), and urban decay as well! i love these hair masks! and they were on sale at the time that i ordered them! these are the "OG" ones, not the new masks that aren't good whatsoever. then from urban decay, i redeemed my birthday sin highlighter...again. and i got another primer potion and their new-ish waterliner in legend. from sephora, i got an old favorite - buxom foundation in dim the light, the estee lauder double wear concealer in warm light, as well as the ordinary.'s makeup primer. i ended up passing the face primer along, because i couldn't deal with the scent.

sin, warm light, legend
a few more ulta things that i missed! also, i'm pretty sure i've converted to drunk elephant. the tlc sukari babyfacial is awesome!
and i also got a lot of goodies from beautylish. i was running low on parian spirit, and i needed more of the ordinary.'s salicylic acid. i also grabbed one of their retinoids to try. i tried out this clean apothecary brush shampoo, it works well enough, but i didn't try foundation-caked brushes in it yet. and i think this oribe dry shampoo was a freebie? i didn't order it, but it got passed along since i don't use them often enough.
it cosmetics has having a friends and family sale at the time i ordered this..if i remember right. got two favorites!
skindinavia - repurchasing because i needed more!

collective haul: multiple ulta purchases

hi! 🙋 my name is lindsay, and i have an ulta problem... i don't aim to be a diamond member, 🙅 but at my current pace, i might make it this year. 😱~Lindsay ^.~

all. the. sheet masks!! how pretty is the packaging on these oozoo ones?! also, the tea tree ones from earth therapeutics, i'm pretty sure i bought them at kohls. i haven't made a decision on how i feel about the rosegold loreal liner yet...it's hard to pair it with stuff.... and the beautyblender pro minis were from sephora.
i have no idea how i obtained this bag o stuff, but it was a freebie with some order i'd placed. a lot of it went to homes elsewhere already.
this new beached palette is sooo freakin pretty!
beached palette
and this aphrodisiac palette too! ugh! i got a few new things to try, along with several oldies but goodies! in early college, i religiously used clinique skincare, and this is probably my first tube of the 7-day scrub in like 8+ years. also, i got a mac foundation pump for the estee lauder double wear foundation that i'd gotten from sephora recently. also, how cute is this panda shower cap?

collective haul: mostly drugstore items

你们好!i needed another greeting...give me a break, this is the 7th post i'm making today! w00t! here's a bunch of stuff that i got over the past several months that are in the drugstore price range. ~Lindsay ^.~

if i recall correctly, there was a huge sale on damaged products on the makeup geek website, so i went ahead and ordered a bunch! some of these are repeats so i didn't swatch them all below. also, i have a sephora shadow swatched below, which will be mentioned in a later haul post.
sephora colorful shadow in danger in paradise, friend zone, bake sale, blacklight
i think i actually got this the ordinary. product from sephora...but it's a drugstore price, so whatever. i've actually already passed this along and it didn't feel like it was helping with what i intended it for. and as soon as these burgundy bars were on amazon, i grabbed one! so pretty!
the burgundy bar palette
here are several things i've picked up at the walmarts recently. (plus nails inc. nailkale which is from sephora.) these tea tree & honey masks have been helping so much! i like them a lot! also, the elf blemish control primer has salicylic acid and has also been great! and i'm not sure when i'll use these press-ons that i got... i bought them before i got my acrylics.
target stuff - let's see... out of this stuff, i don't recommend the pixi eye makeup remover pads. they didn't work for me at all. i probably used like 4 or 6 to get a normal day's eye makeup off. i think i passed this baking soda cleanser along because of the scent, and same reasoning for the sonia kashuk brush shampoo. these ecotools sponges aren't too bad, not my favorite though. and i haven't used this bath bomb yet.
from elf, i haven't been able to find these brush wipes in my local targets. that's why i placed this order, along with a few other things to try and i'm fairly certain some of these items were freebies. the eye and sheet masks were kind of whatever. and the mask brush is kind of weird, but it definitely beats using my fingers for some of the masks i use.

collective haul: planner stuff

hiya! so i'm pretty sure a lot of this was from the spring PBC sale, but i don't actually remember.... anyway, here's all the planner related goodies that i bought over the past few months. ~Lindsay ^.~
