bite beauty lip lab limited release lipsticks for 2015

hi guys! so probably as you have all observed, bite beauty made limited edition lipstick shades over the course of the past year, releasing on the first wednesday of each month at $36 a pop. and more recently, they released the entire set for ~$298 (which amounts to ~$25/tube). in this post, i'd like to recap all of the different shades for you, with comparison swatches across this collection, and some thoughts about them. enjoy! ~Lin-chan ^.~

1 - 12 (click photo to enlarge)

january/november; march/august/june

september/december; february/july/ocotober/april/may

january: deep burgandy
[note: this is the original release, not the reformulation. things happened, and i didn't actually get the reformulated one when they sent them out.]
this is a really rich brown-red shade. i liked how it looked on the lips, but it's not a shade that really makes me think of january....
compared to november, this is more red.

february: japanese eggplant
this is such a gorgeous pinky purple, and it does look pretty close to japanese eggplant color! i really enjoyed wearing this shade.
compared to july, this is more berry..if that makes sense..?

march: chilly pepper
this is a really nice orangy red. i think this is probably as orange as i'd go.
compared to august, this is more red.

april: dragon fruit
this is so pretty! i'm not totally sure how much i like it on me, but it's definitely reminiscent of dragon fruit flesh!
compared to the reds and purples, this is more magenta - bright pink.

may: lavender thistle
this one was interesting. i honestly wasn't sure if i'd like it, but i ended up LOVING it. it neutralized how pigmented my lips are and wore as a nice pinky-lilac nude.
compared to the other purples in this set, this is a very lilac shade. it's slightly more sheer than the rest, but still can build up very nicely.

june: mango daiquiri
this is such a pretty coral! i'm not huge into shades of red or orange and this is really nice!
compared to march and august, this is more peachy-coral.

july: snapdragon
i feel like this one's a great shade too. it's slightly out of my comfort zone, but close enough to it that i'm comfortable wearing it.
compared to february, this is more pink.

august: sweet mandarin
i honestly don't think that this one is really my cup of tea... it's a very bold orangy-red, and i don't feel like i can pull it off too well.
compared to march, this is more orange.

september: spiced apple
i've said this time and time again: i am not a red person. BUT. OMG. this one is perfect. the shade is very reminiscent of fresh cherries and it's beautiful!
compared to december, this is more blue-toned.

october: boisenberry
this was appropriately timed for halloween. such a great color. it'd definitely look great on darker skintones.
compared to the other purples, this is more of a true purple.

november: swiss chocolate
i can't explain it..inner 90s kid, perhaps? but i love it! ..and i love scaring the husband! ^_____^
compared to january, this is a true milk chocolate brown.

december: sugar plum
this is very winter party appropriate (especially the timing). i think i lean more toward the september shade in comparison to this one, but it's still a great pinky red.
compared to september, this leans more pink.

of the bunch, may (lavender thistle) and september (spiced apple) are my absolute favorites. i haven't worn any of the others enough to fully pass judgment on them all, but we'll have to see. hope you enjoyed this post if you were considering any of these!
