ud x gwen stefani palette - initial thoughts

hi guys! i finally got my hands on my new gwen stefani palette yesterday..but i didn't really get to touch it until today. now, i haven't actually tried using it yet, aside from swatching. but i think overall, this is an amazing selection and great quality. ~Lin-chan ^.~

first, the bad. punk is not that good. it swatched super patchy and just didn't feel that great. i'm sure that if it were applied with a fluffy brush and in the crease or something, it'd be fine. but don't try to put this one all over your lid. second, pop. texturally it's more grainy and will probably have more fall-out than the other shimmery shades. personally i'm ok with it, but i wanted to mention it for those who care.

and now, for the good. blackout. i did not have high expectations for this shade whatsoever. it's a matte black, and seemingly no one has gotten this one right yet. when i swatched this, i was freaking blown away. i'm not one for black eyeshadows, but this one is super amazing and swatched beautifully. if you see my swatch below, that is bare skin..because i didn't think i'd need primer that far down my arm...and it's one swipe of the finger. holy crap! so good! second, harajuku. reviews online made this one seem not so great, but i actually think that this one isn't too bad. maybe it has fall-out, but i thought that this one swatched very nicely and pigmented. third and fourth: danger and 1987. i didn't think i'd love these, but i do. omg these are the perfect pops of color for this palette and the color, pigmentation, formulation, and everything...so perfect. i'm really excited.

i love the packaging. it's plastic with a white plastic cutout on the cover, which has a very nice metal plate with ud | gwen stefani stamped onto it. ugh i love it.
