june 2015 empties & makeup graveyard

it's empties time, and i gots a lot this time!!! sorry it's a bit late, a couple items were on their way out so i wanted to wait to use them up. also, i went through all of my stuff to toss out old, expired products and added them at the bottom. ~Lin-chan ^.~
  1. sonia kashuk eye makeup remover
  2. dr. teal's foaming bath in eucalyptus spearmint
  3. big sexy hair weather proof hair spray -- you guys know i'm not a huge hairspray fan, and it was a miracle that this thing was used up. but with that said, i started my new job this month and i was using it to keep my frizzies in check. i liked how the nozzle could be locked in case of traveling. this stuff was only ok with louisiana heat and humidity. the scent wasn't too bad.
    repurchase? maybe
  4. tresemme tres two hair spray -- so same thing as what i said about the other hair spray. it's surprising that i even finished this. this one i do like because it gives a fairly natural look and isn't super crunchy (look or feel)...unless you pile it on like crazy like i did in one of my fotds shown here. this has typical hairspray scent but not quite as overwhelming.
    repurchase? already did
  5. skindinavia oil control makeup finishing spray -- this isn't exactly an empty... i bought this bottle earlier in the month and poured it into my 8oz bottle.
    repurchase? yes
  6. tree hut himalayan salt scrub in cherry blossom -- this stuff was pretty thick and i wasn't huge into the scent...and i usually like cherry blossom scents.. this one didn't have separation issues like their fig and whatever one that i had a ways back. anyway, i think i still prefer their sugar scrubs.
    repurchase? no
  7. herbal essences body wash in happy go lather -- i picked this out as part of the winn dixie hygiene deal, and i liked it--surprise surprise because it's rose/floral scented. i didn't feel like it lasted me that long..like i finished this bottle in about two weeks. i did enjoy using it, and i liked the scent and texture.repurchase? nah
  8. herbal essences body wash in body burst -- again, i picked this out as part of the winn dixie hygiene deal. the scent of this one is orangy, but not super impressive.
    repurchase? nah
  9. coty lady gaga fame body wash -- this came with a set with the perfume, and it wasn't exactly the same scent as the perfume, but it was still really nice. this bottle only lasted me about 4 uses though.
  10. coty katy perry killer queen body wash -- again, this came in a set with the perfume. and i pretty much think the same about this as the lady gaga fame one.
  11. cbv sugar scrub in tiffanyd -- this smells just like the candle omg the goodness. and the sugar crystals are awesomeness and i love it. what i don't love about this is the oiliness. so if you use this in the bath, the tub will get an oily film on it when you're done, and your skin too. neither of which, i'm a fan of. but i was able to use this up in the shower, using the scrub at the beginning and rinsing off the excess oily-filminess with body wash and a pouf.
    repurchase? no
  1. simple cleansing wipes x2
  2. clinique ddm gel
  3. too faced primed & poreless mini
  4. philosophy purity made simple
  5. dove go fresh body wash in mandarin & tiare flower
  6. klorane smoothing and relaxing patches -- these were interesting. i'd never used this type of product before, so it took a few tries to even place them on correctly...and it still felt too close to my eye when i blinked... at first these felt a bit cooling. after a while, my skin felt itchy and warm, and by the 20 minute mark (when to remove them), i didn't feel like there was any difference.
    repurchase? no
  7. biorepublic green tea detox sheet mask -- this was actually a really nice one. though it is called a fiber mask..it does not mean that it's any stronger than other sheet masks. yes it's a bit thicker than the freeman ones i tried, but it's also a lot more saturated. so needless to say, take your time when unfolding these guys, because if you go too fast,  you'll tear it. i reiterate: there was a tooon of serum in there, you could practically wring out the mask. anyway, i felt pretty refreshed after using this, and the remaining serum absorbed within about 5-10 minutes after i removed it. it smelled pretty good and it fit very well.
    repurchase? ughhh but the price!
  8. biorepublic cucumber breeze sheet mask -- this one was a similar experience to the other one. this one didn't have much of a scent...but maybe a slight cucumber scent..? cucumbers don't have a strong scent as it is.. as for it being "soothing", i thought it felt pretty nice, again.
    repurchase? nah
  9. belif true cream aqua bomb -- this is such a great moisturizer and i'm super freaking sad that it's gone. it has a great citrusy type scent, it's a gel-like formula, and a little goes a long way.
    repurchase? yes, but not yet
  10. simple soothing eye balm -- for some reason i really liked this when i first started using it..maybe it was because it was my first eye cream, i dunno. now, i don't think it even does anything for me, or the tarte maracuja eye cream is just spoiling me.
    repurchase? no
  11. anastasia beverly hills brow wiz in dark brown -- i really liked using this, and i'm glad that it lasted me for 6 months too, considering how some people use these like water somehow.....anyway, i painted one of the caps because i would always open the spoolie side first. hahah. anyway, this i great, and i hope the nyx one is pretty comparable because it's half the price.
    repurchase? already did
  12. tarte double detox exfoliating face mask -- this little tube was about 2 uses. the product was very thick to squeeze out of the tube (think back in the day white toothpaste). it spread out very nicely and had exfoliating particles in it. when it dried, it was slightly tight but not uncomfortable. i feel like the exfoliating particles were only ok when rinsing it off..but again, i like the more abrasive stuff.
    repurchase? nah
  13. body shop blueberry shower gel -- i found this while perusing marshall's a couple months ago. i got the gel scrubby stuff last year(?) in this scent and it was nice (the scent. the scrub was lame). this smelled exactly like it. it's a pretty spot on, but partially artificial blueberry scent.
    repurchase? not this scent
  14. tarte clean slate poreless face primer -- this is a great primer..just like all the other ones like it (smashbox, too faced, lorac), it's got that silicony feel that i love. and it works just as well as the ones i just listed, so for the price, i probably will pick a different one.
    repurchase? nah
  15. coola mineral sunscreen natural bb cream -- this is a really nice one. it's unscented, dries matte, and sheers out a lot, even though it's supposed to be tinted... anyway, this is a great product, but for the price, i probably won't be buying it any time soon, and i don't really use something like this.
    repurchase? nah for the price
  16. caudalie vinosource moisturizing sorbet -- this is a very nice, light (feeling) moisturizer. maybe it's the sorbet in the name, but i feel like it has kind of a whipped texture and it applies nice and smoothly. i'm not sure how to describe the scent, but if you've tried any of their other vinosource products, it smells like those to me.
    repurchase? probably not
  17. loreal total repair 5 multirestorative dry oil -- this is really great on dry hair to smooth flyaways. on wet hair it doesn't really do much in my opinion, but then again i usually air dry.
    repurchase? nah
  18. freeman charcoal & black sugar facial polishing mask -- i was pretty skeptical about this when i first started using it. i primarily bought it because sugar granules (scrub), and charcoal. it wasn't until later that i saw a lot of bloggers i follow started saying they loved it. and i was sitting here like meh. it's ok. then it wasn't until the end when i realized i was using it wrong. you need to dispense a tooon and put it on super thick. otherwise it doesn't really stick to your face. anyway, when you go to scrub and remove it, it is awesome. very nice and abrasive..but not too abrasive.
    repurchase? undecided
[not pictured]
  1. cbv soap in leaves type -- i finally got around to using this up. i bought this forever (over a year) ago. this was a great soap and smelled fairly similar but not exactly the same as the candle
    repurchase? nah
  2. bliss mini blue bar (soap)-- this came in a mini set i got a waaaays back and i finally brought myself to use it. the massage bumps are nice, but they wore down too quickly. the scent is not very strong and it felt nice.
    repurchase? nah
  3. lypsyl lip balm in chamomile & honey -- i really fell in love with lypsyl when i started watching hollieeatslipstick, so i wanted to give this one a try. it works just as great and i love the formula, but i'm not as huge into the tea-like scent it has. like, i like it, but not love it.
    repurchase? not this type
  4. suave shampoo & conditioner in rosemary mint -- this was a pretty nice substitute for my beloved pantene. i primarily kept these at my in-laws, and sis-in-law started using them too. the conditioner was a little thinner than i'd like, but i still feel like both the shampoo & conditioner did their job. and i liked the scent.
    repurchase? yes
makeup graveyard
  1. clinique butter lipstick in delovely -- this is probably the first ever lipstick that i fell in love with. it does wear off fairly easily, but i love the formula and the color. it's my second tube, but sadly this tube is like 90% full and it smells weird... i think i'll repurchase it again sometime, but not any time soon.
  2. revlon lip butter in peach parfait -- this one isn't really bad, per se..it just doesn't go back down into the tube when i twist it and it's kind of annoying to push back down...so yeah. i do like this shade a lot, but this tube's kinda annoying.
  3. lorac 3d liquid lustre (diamond?) -- this is super sad. i think i left it alone for too long and all the liquid evaporated, so all that's left is the shimmer..... i'm not sure if there's a way to revive these, but i think i'll toss it anyway since i've got a bunch of other ones to let dry out and die use
  4. beauty junkees flat top kabuki brush -- i'm calling it quits with this one. i already fixed it once before, within a month or two of buying it. it's a great, affordable brush..before the hairs fall out..... anyway, when i fixed it last, the whole bundle of bristles fell out of the ferrule. so i wrapped a clear elastic ponytail onto it tightly and hot glued it back into the ferrule. and after a few more months of use, the glue is getting loose again and the bristles are either falling out or coming loose at wonky lengths...so i'm just going to go back to my good ol sigma's.
