june 2015 favorites

hi guys! i've got my june favorites for ya! i didn't have any regrets this month, but some food meh's. lol. and i shopped my stash and rediscovered a few things that i still love! ~Lin-chan ^.~
favorites:

  1. colourpop cosmetics kathleenlights set -- these four go so freakin well together, it's gorgeous. yall know i'm a neutrals fan, and this is perfect!
  2. lancome artliner liquid liner in noir -- this came in the sephora favorites glitz & glam set. this was actually one of the items i really wanted to try when i decided to order the set. if i remember right, my mom used to consistently use this a long time ago, and now i see why. it's really awesome. i love the elongated and flexible felt tip that it has. it also stays nice and black all day.
  3. becca shimmering skin perfector pressed in opal -- i got this in the sephora bronzed something-or-rather set in may, and i've been practically using this non-stop. it's so gorgeous!
  4. urban decay afterglow blush in rapture -- this is such a pretty blush! it's subtle yet a nice plummy shade.
  5. anastasia beverly hills tamanna palette -- [see #6 below] i never actually used this palette until recently. i really love sangria and china rose. so pretty!
  6. i shopped my stash this month and attempted to use each of my palettes (as demonstrated in my first week at work post), since i've been slacking lately. and i re-fell in love with (in no particular order):
    1. urban decay naked2 basics palette
    2. urban decay naked 3 palette
    3. be a bombshell cosmetics quad in bora bora
    4. too faced natural eyes palette
    5. mac bao bao wan jewels veluxe pearlfusion shadow palette
    6. maybelline master drama chromatics eye pencil in turn on the teal
    7. kevyn aucoin shadow duo in sugared peach & rust brown
    8. benefit rockateur blush

random favorites: there's a lot this time!
  1. song: skrillex kill everybody -- this should have been included in my favorites a long time ago... paul burned this onto my "car cd" like a year ago, and it's one of my favorites on there (aside from ff5 chainsaw). you should go have a listen. not to sound like a completely terrible person, but it's like my anthem and "because dey got people in the world, [and i'm] glad i ain't one of 'em!" --- lol, that's a reference that only people i went to high school with would understand.
    1. another song that's great is knife party internet friends. it's got some language, but it's so funny because of people and the social media age. i love it.
  2. target: c9 champion concealer sports bras -- [buy all the colors!] they were having a sale on this brand earlier this month, so i picked up a few. these are super comfortable, no removable cups (which is awesome for washing them!) and they have built in petal-pasties..so maybe that's the "concealer" aspect of them? anyway, i really like these a lot.
  1. snacks!! these are a few of my all time favorite snacks, plus a few new ones.. (all of these were purchased either at my local asian grocery or world market)
    1. kasugai roasted green peas -- these are like popcorn..ya can't stop eating them. they also come in wasabi flavor, but i'm not for spicy.
    2. licorice melon seeds -- these are like sunflower seeds..but not. the shells are a lot tougher than sunflowers, so you'd typically use your back teeth with these. they're pretty salty and by the time i realize it, i eat so many that my lips are burning from the saltiness. haha.
    3. green tea pocky -- i've loved green tea pocky, and i recently discovered the midi variety, which is a shorter, thicker "pretzel" stick and they put a thick coating of the chocolate flavoring on the outside. super good!
    4. white chocolate tolberone -- my family's a huge fan of these, and i was super excited when i found out they made a white chocolate version a few months ago, really yums.
    5. perugina baci white -- these are white chocolate covered hazelnut ganache plus a whole hazelnut. so yums. i found these at world market a few months ago, on the same trip that i found the white tolberone. for quite some time now, i've been buying my dad perugina bars and baci and i always wanted to try it..well now i can! and yes, i'm completely ignoring the fact that the ingredients list says chocolate milk. i don't care, it's teh yums.
    6. c howard's violet mints -- aka, soap candy. apparently out of my entire family (both sides), my paternal great grandmother and i are the only ones that like these things..because everyone else thinks these taste like soap. and rightfully so, but i always liked them. when i was little, my great grandmother would pick up a few extra packs for me whenever she went to the drugstore, and i would practically eat the entire pack as soon as she gave them to me.
      1. i'm the same with wintergreen tic-tacs. idk, so good, must eat all.
    7. not pictured because they were hiding in the grocery bag: haw flakes -- i've always loved haw flakes. throughout elementary and middle school, i would pack my lunch myself, and i'd throw in a couple packs. i would always share them with my adventurous friends, but most of them never liked them. i never understood why. they're flat disks of sweetness, maybe like a dried puree? ....apparently they're made with chinese hawthorn berries.
      1. on a sidenote: all of my friends growing up became obsessed with white rabbit candy. those are super addictive too. and yes, you eat the paper--no, not the individual wrapper, but the sugar paper wrapped around the candy.

product updates:
  1. i bought more furikake! i got ebi (shrimp) and shiso (beefsteak plant leaf) flavors. i think the ebi is good, but still has a slightly fishy taste to it. like, i still like the salmon one more. and the shiso is interesting..i'm not really sure how to describe it. it's a very earthy taste. for a little while, i was trying to grow a beefsteak (type of tomato) plant, and this smells similar to the plant. but this also has a slight tanginess to it, that's hard to describe. i feel like i've had the flavor somewhere else before, but i can't totally place it. it almost tastes like dim sum sticky rice? like the flavor that the lotus or banana leaves give the sticky rice?? ...does this make any sense whatsoever..? probably not. haha, but that's the best i think i can do.

week two!

hi guys! i have survived week two now! w00t. i actually got lazy this week and didn't take any fotd's, mostly because i went into work even earlier. and lazy. and waking up earlier...yeah... anyway. here's what went down this past week. ~Lindsay-chan ^.~

monday
at the last minute on friday, we asked them what the plan was for the morning. my supervisor wanted us there for 830 and we were to meet in this conference room that we only knew what floor it was on. thankfully, i lucked out and saw someone from orientation and found everyone else. turns out the room was really small for 16 of us...it fit more like 6. closer to 9 was when our supervisor was able to meet with us and start assigning us desks. then he began emailing everyone individually with what training modules we each needed to do. my email didn't come until like 1030. so for most of the morning, i was pretty much derping around, looking at the new initiate..i mean, new hire checklist.
after i got my training path, i began researching a little into wtf it was. i mean, he gave me my course names and codes, so i knew what in general i'm doing...and googling it didn't actually help. anyway, essentially, the training path i am on involves html and javascript for mobile platforms...aka, i'm going to be making apps here soon guys.. and guess who has totally done that before..? pffffff. lol. so we shall see how this goes. i will say though that i lucked out. all of us were assigned training based on our previous education and work experience, so another guy that graduated with me is doing the same as me. ...back to why or how i'm lucky. our training is a total of 64 hours. other people around me have training that is as many as 184 hours. holy crap. i mean, they do encourage us to learn other things if we're not working on a project, so i might delve into their topics at a later point, but mannnn. a whole month just for training.
anyway, i added my courses to my profile and started working on the first one..a little bit. the first module that i'm on has two people with funny accents. the guy in the desk next to mine agrees with me that we think they both learned british english and it's an asian man and an indian woman. their pronunciations are so funny. it's not engrish, but for example referred is "ri-fir-d" and not "re-ferred".
then it was lunchtime. i went home because my new corporate card was sitting on my doorstep. thankfully, i have a ups account so i got an email when it came. and my name matched this time, which is why i didn't get a delivery notification last week.... anyway.. i got back to work, derped around for a bit. i didn't want to start my training right away, so i activated my new credit card, played around with other things on my checklist... and then for pretty much the rest of the day, i worked on training.

tuesday
it was an interesting day. i went in just after 8 and started working on my trainings...except not because the server that was hosting them was down or something. yay 404 error. so, i went and worked on more checklist items. then, at 10 we had a meeting with our supervisors to have a formal introduction with them and had some time to ask them questions we had. during this meeting, we learned that we will soon be moving to a different floor and that'll be where our permanent desks will be. afterward it was so close to lunch time, so i kinda derped for a bit. then i got back to my training--it actually was working again. around noon, i went to lunch with two of the people from orientation, we all brought our lunch, but we went outside to eat. afterward we came back, another orientation person fussed (more like joked) that we haven't gone out to eat with them, so that's the plan for wednesday. afterward, i pretty much finished up the training module....except for the end-of-module assessment. hahaha. i wasn't ready for that yet. then on the way home, there was a torrential downpour with lightning and ridiculous wind and craziness. then my phone made that awful noise (like on tv) because there were flash flood warnings. yay~ and i was driving through it! it was the worst driving experience ever. apparently two people nearly got struck by lightning during this whole ordeal. and downed trees, flooded streets, and power outages! crazy man! also, apparently the power at my apartment went out briefly sometime before i got home, because the microwave and stove clocks were flashing.

wednesday
the morning was relatively uneventful. we moved to a different floor of the building and it took a while for us to figure out where our desks were. all of our orientation class has been split up by function. so there's only four of us together where i'm sitting. we've got a really nice view, we're in the one of the uppermost floors, in a corner area, so we have views of the river on one side, and downtown on the other. pretty neat. once we settled in, i marked a few more things off my checklist, and didn't really do any training until after lunch. we had two webinars, one before and one after lunch. the thing that really infuriates me about those webinars was that our company does the video feed through the web (with a chatroom on the side), but the audio feed is a conference phone call type deal. so stupid. it's not that difficult to just make it all on the web. >.> additionally, we don't have working phones at our desks yet, so we all called-in on our cell phones. also, the webinars were a teeny tiny expansion on things that were covered and demonstrated in orientation week. for lunch, about 15 of us from our orientation group went out to a local mom & pop seafood place. the gumbo i ordered was only ok, but i wasn't super hungry and didn't want to bring back leftovers. after the second webinar, i went back to my training modules. come to find out, only the first one we started on is actually interactive. the other six i have to do are textbooks that are 200 - 500 pages each. O_O
also, crazy phone alert sounds again. thankfully the day's flash flood warnings came after i got home.

thursday
it was another day of fighting with the training website and the module not loading properly or server errors. but i spent most of the day studying for the interactive module (offline via powerpoints i made with screenshots and audio transcriptions) and took the assessment in the afternoon. i got 21/23. oh well, whatever, close enough. haha. at lunch, i sat with one of the same dudes i've been hanging out with the past two weeks, and we checked out the break room right by our desks (he's among the three sitting next to me). instead of people watching, we river-watched. aka, there were a bunch of tugboats pulling cargo along our oh-so-beautiful river. lol, yeah right.

around 2, i got a call from the electric company. the weather knocked out our power and it wasn't going to be restored until midnight. but about half an hour after i got home, it was up and running again. then around 7, i got called that we (my physical apartment address) were still out of power and projected to be fixed at midnight. except i had power, and was surfin the net and cooking... so wtf. then i got another phone call less than half an hour later saying someone's nearby to fix it. then i got called again around 8 saying that we should be good. it was like geez man, so many phone calls and my power already came back...

friday
it was casual friday! w00t for blue jeans! ..except not...casual friday is basically jeans and polos, and anything else outside of our usual business casual attire is unacceptable... anyway, i spent most of the day not really making any progress whatsoever. i completed my weekly report on what i did this week, did a few things on the checklist, and i submitted my resume for review. i didn't mention this on here before, but we are assigned our first project, and after that we have to find them on our own. we have to use a specially formatted resume to apply and be interviewed before being allowed on any more projects. no pressure, right? anyway, there was that, a lot of hanging out with people--my friend finally came back from her project..for the day.......and other people from our orientation class wanted to visit and break up the monotony of their training modules. and at some point, we went to lunch at another local seafood eatery and i got crab & crawfish fettuccine. it was teh yums. then i spent most of the afternoon finishing up taking notes on my first module. i think this weekend, i'll attempt to work on one of my textbooks so i'll feel like i actually accomplished something. because honestly, i have been studying for the whole week--for the most part--and i don't feel like i'm as far along as i should be. at the very least, the guy i graduated with and i--we're kinda on the same page with our training, so it's not too bad.

summer 2015 walmart beauty box

hi all! i just got my summer walmart beauty box in the mail! low value of this box aside, i like that there was a wide variety of sample items in here plus a full size item. (if you'd like to subscribe, you can sign up here.) ~Lin-chan ^.~

  1. nyc liquid lipshine lip gloss in fashion ave fuchsia (.24oz--full size, ret. $1.87) -- i would have never picked this up on my own. especially something that has fuchsia in the name. buuuut. this gloss is not sticky, it's very balmy, and the color is pretty sheer with a nice shimmer to it. kudos!
    repurchase? maybe
  2. dove go fresh body wash in mandarin & tiare flower (1.8oz--mini, ret. $5.47 for 22oz [$0.45]) -- what the hell walmart. we got this in the last box. you could have at least sent out a different scent or something! anyway, this stuff was good, but not my favorite.
     repurchase? nah
  3. st. ives apricot scrub (1oz--mini, ret. $3.54 for 6oz [$0.59]) -- i used to use this a long time ago, and i've stopped and started trying out other things.
    repurchase? nah
  4. clear scalp & hair therapy complete care nourishing anti-dandruff shampoo (1.7oz--mini, ret. $4.98 for 12.9oz [$0.66]) -- i love clear brand shampoos, but i don't need anything moisturizing, as i've said many times before...
    repurchase? no
  5. nivea soft nourishing creme (.84oz--mini, ret. $3.74 for 6.8oz [$0.46]) -- i've heard good things about this as a hand cream, but i'm not so sure i like it. it has a very thin consistency, and it has a very strong baby powder smell.
    repurchase? nah
  6. neutrogena cool dry sport sunscreen lotion spf 70 (.5oz--mini, ret. $8.49 for 5oz [$0.85]) -- so far, all i've got to say is that it doesn't smell like sunscreen...so that is a huge plus in my book.
    repurchase? maybe
  7. one direction you & i perfume sample (1.5ml--sample, ret. £21.00 for 30ml [~$1.70]) -- this has a nice fruity but floraly scent. it's pretty interesting, but i'm not sure if it's for me.
    repurchase? nah
  8. jergens natural glow 3 days to glow moisturizer sample set (.84oz--sample, ret. $6.75 for 4oz [$1.42]) -- this sampler is for medium to tan skintones..which is obviously for me... and yall know how much i love self-tanners...... so i'm going to pass this off to my mom.
    repurchase? no
  9. coupons for ecotools, real techniques, and essential tools brushes

june 2015 ipsy bag

hi guys! it's june IPSY BAG* time!! (theme: swim into beauty) this actually came in on tuesday, but with work i've been "nope!"-ing everything recently. ~Lin-chan ^.~
here's my impressions:
  1. formula x for sephora mini in power source (4ml--mini, ret. $10.50 for 12ml [$3.50]) -- this was a lot crazier than i was expecting. this is like neon pink. i love it, but i can't use it as much because of work.
    • likelihood to repurchase: not this shade
  2. smashbox photo finish foundation primer (.25oz--mini, ret. $36 for 1oz [$9]) -- this is a really good primer, i've tried many-a sample of this before. it's a silicony textured primer.
    • likelihood to repurchase: nah, lorac's is similar and cheaper
      • tre'StiQue mini shadow crayon in marimoto pink pearl (.02oz--mini, ret. $26 for ?? [$?]) -- after you get over the initial freak-out with the packaging and actually open it, it's really nice. it has a similar pigmentation and texture to laura mercier's caviar sticks. so nice! and this color is really pretty too.
        • likelihood to repurchase: maybe
      • jules and esther vitamin c serum (.5oz--mini, ret. $36 for 1.1oz [$16.37]) -- i still haven't figured out how i feel about serums...or i'm just really freaking lazy and don't ever want to use any. this smells like it has orange oil, super nice. but i'll have to update later on this one.
        • likelihood to repurchase: probably not
      • biorepublic skincare sheet masks in aloe rescue (revitalizing), cucumber breeze (soothing), and green tea (detox) (3 sheet masks, ret. $36 for set of 8 masks [$13.50]) -- i haven't quite figured out how i feel about sheet masks..either that or i need to get on the asian sheet mask bandwagon. i'll have to update later.
        • likelihood to repurchase: probably not
      • black ipsy bag -- i love how plush this thing is!
      • card with company info/discount codes

      i survived initia.....i mean, orientation

hi guys! i've finished my first week at work! and it's been rough. here, i've chronicled each day's events and my fotd's. i hope you guys enjoy, and continue to stick with me through this new journey! ~Lin-chan ^.~

for those who don't know, i don't want this site getting tracked by my workplace (or further so if it already has been looked upon) by using it's name.. so for the entirety of this post, i will continually refer to it as "the company" or something of the like. if you don't remember what company i'm talking about, i posted part of my offer letter on here, sometime last fall (which i will not link to for the same reason).

      monday
we spent the entire morning working on paperwork. yes i'm a us citizen, yes take all my money in taxes, yes sign my life away for IPR reasons, etc. and we took our badge photos. then, they provided lunch for us from whole paycheck. they ordered a salad, cheese lasagna, cookies, and chantilly cake--yum! then the afternoon was slightly more rough. we met the second instructor for the week. we took our tour of the building, watched a couple videos, introduced ourselves to the rest of the class (there were about 20 of us that started on the same day), watched more videos, got into groups and did quick research our assigned topic and presented it, and finally, more videos. i liked the videos and all, but there's only so much of this artistic crap where they have images flashing so quickly, or three people saying small pieces of a sentence and showing them saying them and more flashes.... i had a headache by the time i got home from all those damn videos. it was not cool man. i will say that i slept pretty well though, considering all we did was watch a ton videos and fill out paperwork.

      tuesday
we pretty much did the same as monday afternoon. we watched videos. we did brainstorming activities and presented on them. we got a more extensive explanation about how crappy our benefits are for the first two years (it kinda gets better after...). they're trying to sell them to us as good benefits, but they're only ok and we really could do better elsewhere (salary & benefits). [my salary is only ok, and at present i am fine with it since paul still has his fellowship and technically i'm the breadwinner right now by a small margin.] we got a lot of story time with company policies and a little bit of etiquette..and how to not get fired. lol. at lunch, i went home and when i came back, i almost got the 3rd degree. we hadn't gotten our security badges yet and some people by the elevator were iffy on my identity. afterward, we went to listen to a higher executive speak, since she came in town to visit our office for the day. after, we continued our videos and group brainstorming presentation things.

      wednesday
we received our laptops and were installing software or learning how to use the email and instant messaging programs for pretty much the whole day. at lunch, i stayed in the building so that i didn't get the weird looks again since our badges weren't done. our lunch break was pretty long, so a few of us went and scoped out a nearby fitness center to see what kind of corporate discount we got and what the premises looked like. in short, the design of the place made the equipment claustrophobically close to each other. and our discount was a whole $2 off. woo hoo.
some time after learning how to use the instant messenger, we had to listen to another initiat--i mean, new hire, being chewed out for testing the im software on an existing employee they knew. the message they sent was along the lines of "hi how's it going?" the other person responded "i see yall are setting up your laptops. i'm waiting to meet a client." "cool." and apparently this warrants the instructor to ridicule this person for about 20 minutes in front of everyone, and screenshoting it to send to various managers. we took a break (the timing wasn't totally anticipated, there was an important phone call), and then the hysterics continued for at least another 15 minutes. like seriously? i understand we are supposed to be professionals and should know what we should and shouldn't be doing, but i think that was a bit overboard for something petty like that. bottom line: no this person shouldn't have sent a message to someone outside of the class while we were testing it. but at the same time, the content of the message was not a breach of any rules. spending 30+ minutes to beat a dead horse while making everyone very uncomfortable was completely unnecessary.
it's only been three days, but i'm wondering if this was the right decision. there are a lot of toes that can be easily stepped upon. and while we're on this topic, they want us to stop with certain aspects of southern hospitality. it's a big deal to ask a southerner to stop saying "yes mam" or "___ mam". even though it is extremely natural and ingrained into us, other people take extreme offense to this. and its understandably so, but saying "yes" just feels so incomplete and very awkward. [also our instructor gave us an example of someone misinterpreting the phrase "let me give you some lagniappe". lol, but again, rightfully so.] from what i understand, "yes sir" is still acceptable. it's interesting how things are not a two-way street: we need to adapt so we can interact with clients, yet others (not necessarily clients) don't have to adapt to us.
fotd: (same as previous with the following changes)
urban decay afterglow blush in rapture
too faced natural eyes palette -- heaven (brow highlight), silk teddy (inner corner), push-up (lid), cashmere bunny (crease)
      urban decay perversion mascara
elf mineral lipstick in pouty petal

      thursday
we spent most of the morning finishing off the laptop stuff that needed to be done. the poor person that got yelled at yesterday omg. they didn't come to work with their laptop, so they had to go home and retrieve it. then when the instructor (same one) found out they (still the same new hire) didn't open the laptop lock to lock up their laptop at home, there were some dirty looks... i understand that this laptop = life, but if you're home by yourself, who's going to steal your laptop..........
we also received our badges and parking passes, so now we're official! downside: apparently they're too cheap to provide us clips or lanyards for said badge and pass. i was thinking about ordering some from the company website, but omg people: a $3 lanyard is $14 after shipping. at lunch, we were talking about how fast we'll all blow through our first paycheck. i joked that we'd all spend it in the logo store, and i was right. i started adding a few things into my cart because who doesn't want shirts, sweaters, and jackets? plus a lanyard and stationary was $100+ in my cart, before the shipping! hahaha. it's so bad. i think maybe at a later point in time i'll consider placing that order, but that's kinda a lot. i ended up ordering a multi pack of retractable badge clips and a beaded lanyard from amazon for about $20 instead.
after we ate lunch, a few of us went out exploring and found this indoor farmer's market thing a few blocks away. it has like no markings on the outside, but that's what it looks like on the inside, a bunch of stalls and vendors--mostly food. really neat. after lunch we discussed more policy stuff and how to use the expense reporting software and business traveling website. afterward, we took a personality test and discussed the results by breaking into groups and presenting as representatives of the different results. at some point in the afternoon, she's like "what can i do to make you guys more awake?" and someone shouts, "candy". so she leaves, and comes back with a jar of jelly beans and an ice cream scooper and started scooping them out to us. so funny.
my corporate card came in the mail. "lindsay lindsay". that's the name they put on it. seriously, who would name their kid that?? anyway, i contacted my manager to figure out how to get it fixed. called the phone number she gave me and i waited 10 minutes on hold. the dude (in india) picks up and is asks how to help me, transfers me, and a lady (also in india) picks up and asks who i am. while transferring to her, the automated thingy asked me to punch in my card number, so i say i'm lindsay ___. which is obviously something different from what was written on her screen i'm sure. then she starts spouting some nonsensical gibberish and won't let me tell her that was the reason why i was calling. so i hang up because who want's to hear all that.... then i call the actual customer service number that came attached to my card and i got helped immediately. another indian guy, but this time when he asked who i was, i was like waaiiiit. i'm calling because my name is wrong on the card!!!! and so he asked for all the card information, the numbers on both sides and the mailing address and how the name was written on the card. then he said ok, we can change your name. so ridiculous!

      friday
the day went relatively smoothly this time. a lot of it was more professionalism training and people that came to our class about outside activities we could do, like volunteering. we also learned how to do our time cards..if you want to call them that...it's basically to keep a log of the hours we work on particular client projects so that the company can bill the client for whatever our rate is. sadly, we do not get paid nearly the same as what they charge clients for us.
at lunch, a few of us stayed in the break room the whole time, chatting and people-watching. as a whole our class really stuck together and stuck up for each other, so i think having so many of us at once was a really good bonding opportunity for us. most of us will be working in the same group, but not necessarily learning the same things.
just before going home, our instructor showed us a talk she gave and it was so good. she was showing us things to and not to do during presentations, and we had previously heard that she had a talk. so we asked her if we could watch it together. about halfway through, she wanted to cut it off because she was embarrassed, and we're like nuuuuu. soo good. afterward while we were all talking about it, she sat there and was like, "man if i knew you guys would like this that much, i would have shown it to you sooner!" because we were like low energy and like let's go home, and after her video: omg wide awake, supah awesome story, etc. etc.

review & notd: formula x infinite ombre set

hi guys! today i attempted the formula x infinite ombre set today and it was pretty fun! i really like how it turned out for a first try! [also used: formula x the system] ~Lin-chan ^.~
instructions: paint one layer of platinum prime and allow to dry. paint colored polishes as desired and sweep the brush through the other colors that are already placed on the nail to create the ombre effect.
precautions: it's easy for the colors to get muddy, so try to plan out or strategize how you're applying the different colors [i had to redo my right thumb because of this, but used the same general design idea]. keep acetone and q-tips or an old makeup brush handy for clean up, you will get polish on your skin, no matter what you do. make sure the nail is dry before applying topcoat.
      review:
      • positives: there's a definite learning curve to this set if you're not already used to doing something like this (i.e. a nail artist or something). i started with my left hand, and i tried following the instructions inside. for the rest of my fingers, i drew inspiration from the various designs on the box. as i mentioned above, it's easy to get the colors muddy if you aren't careful in your application. otherwise it's a really fun set to play around with because it has the three primary colors plus purple, and i love how the metalic-ness of the silver shows through the colored polishes.
      • negatives: one thing i don't like about this set is the yellow because it's easy to get the other colors mixed into the bottle. since the instructions are to drag the brush through the other polishes, it's easy to pick up some of the color onto the brush. so if you finish off with the yellow--which is obviously the lightest shade, it's possible that you will accidentally place the brush back into the bottle before wiping it off and getting the other colors mixed into it.
the verdict: definitely worth a try! i really enjoyed using this set!
