january 2014 ipsy bag

  

hi guys! i've finally got my january IPSY BAG*! (theme: 19 reasons). sorry it took so long for this post to get up, between new year's delaying ipsy's ship date and my package getting seemingly lost in the abyss for several days because of usps's lack of updating their tracking system. and not being able to get to the apartment office to pick it up sooner..... but what can ya do? anyway, let's get this post on the road! ~Lin-chan ^.~

here's my impressions:

1. mica beauty tinted lip balm in natural (2.5g--near full size, ret. $30 for 4g [$18.75]) -- this lip balm is not emollient whatsoever. it also stained my finger when i was finished applying it. on my lips, it's a nice color, almost a mlbb. i think i'll keep using it but with a lip brush, after exfoliating my lips. it makes dry spots very apparent.

2. yaby liquid foundation in buff (.272oz--half size, ret. $13.99 for .54 oz [$7.05]) -- looks like a perfect color match for me, gives sheer to medium coverage. i'll definitely use this up but i think it's easier to buy foundations locally than reordering this one.
• likelihood to repurchase: maybe
3. epice purifying exfoliant (1oz--mini, ret. $32 for 3.3oz [$9.70]) -- smells exactly like proactiv's face scrub (or maybe it was the mask?), which is a pretty distinct scent, considering i haven't used proactiv for ~10 years--in the tube. on my face, the scent didn't bother me and i love how gentle yet effective the exfoliation is!

4. proactiv+ mark fading pads (4 packets--ret. $??? for ???) -- i stopped using proactiv in early high school..maybe the end of middle school? i'll try to use them and make an opinion later..

5. briogeo don't despair, repair (1oz--mini, ret. $26 for 5.25oz [$4.95]) -- this smells great, i think i can get about 5 uses from this jar. didn't feel super moisturized as I had hoped but not too bad as a regular conditioner
• likelihood to repurchase: no, it's kinda expensive and it's only ok..
6. blue ipsy bag with skincare bottles on it -- the pattern for this bag is kinda meh.
