fall favorites

this is a continuation of my favorites post from november where i made and shared my yaki udon recipe in this post. for more recipe ideas, click the recipes link up above! ~Lindsay-chan ^.~

these are what i've been constantly using this lately:
  • tarte smolderEYES amazonian clay liner pencils in onyx (skinny) and espresso. espresso was part of a gift set last year at sephora, so i'm not sure if they still sell this shade anywhere. onyx was in this year's pencil set, but it's sold pretty much anywhere that sells tarte. i really like the staying power of these pencils, they do raccoon after a few hours, but not to the point where others will notice it. onyx gives ud perversion a run for the money. it's amazing. see my comparison post here!
  • too faced sun bunny bronzer: this is a great bronzer, it is very easy to apply too much (for my light skin), but in moderation, it looks amazing!
  • nars orgasm blush & velvet gloss lip pencil in new lover--i got these during the vib sale at sephora as part of the 500 point perk. omg these are so awesome. this blush is a perfect, shimmery pinky-coral and this lip pencil is amazing; not only is this color flattering, but it's super long lasting (without lip primer) and feels very moisturizing.
  • nyx brow shaper (brow wax pencil): great pencil when applied with a light hand, if you use too much your brows will feel waxy/tacky and they may not want to move to places you want them to..so have a brow comb or spoolie on hand if necessary.
  • loreal one sweep eyeshadow in natural for brown eyes: ok, i've mentioned this somewhere else before..but it had to get included again! =P
  • revlon photoready concealer stick in light/medium: this is my new favorite full-coverage concealer. benefit's boi-ing is awesome for light coverage, but this takes the cake. it covers up redness like a charm. it's awesome!
  • sigma
    • e05 eyeliner brush (pink handle): awesome for gel eyeliners. this one came free when i ordered my p82 & p86. and i have a regular-sized one from the make me cool set.
    • p82 precision round brush (black handle): ahhhh!!! i love this brush so much. it's described as giving a finger-like application, awesome for concealer. i'm definitely going to get another when i get a chance!
  • real techniques
    • contour & buffing brushes (orange handles on left): it kinda sucks that they only package/sell these in the "core collection" set; which is the one with the orange handles.. but i really like these a lot! the buffer is dense, and a good size and shape for applying bronzer, and i use the contour brush for blush or highlighting.
    • base shadow & deluxe crease brushes (purple handles in middle): it kinda sucks that they only package/sell these in the "starter" set; which is the one with the purple handles.. but i really like these a lot! i've actually been using the base shadow brush as a fluffy blender brush. it's not really stiff enough to use for just applying shadow. it's up there with my e25: i love it! the deluxe crease brush, i have also not really been using for it's namesake; i've been using this as a second sigma p82 for concealer. it's fairly dense, but i'm sure it's great for eyeshadow as well.
    • expert face brush (orange handle on right): this is my new go-to foundation brush. it is sold separately from the other brushes/sets, and isn't terribly expensive (~$9). i like the application with this brush a lot more than the many flat foundation brushes i have. it makes it easy to stipple on foundation or blend it, no streaks!
  • macadamia natural oil deep repair [hair] masque: i usually only get hair masques/masks as a treatment; used once or twice a week because my hair is fairly normal but the flat iron definitely dries it out. when i'm not really using the flat iron, i'll use masks once a week or less. but when i am constantly using the heat, i'll do it twice or three times on just the ends. for me, i don't need this all over or it will be too much moisture on my roots and look greasy. and i basically use it instead of my regular conditioner for that day. i really love this stuff because, compared to other hair masks, this one feels and smells great afterward. my hair feels softer and better. before this, i'd normally get pantene masks.
  • velcro hair clips: i got these off ebay, the person i got them from sells them in pairs of three (all three in one color, or a set with one of each color). the only thing that sucked about ordering from him was that he's in china and usps/customs took forever (~13 business days total) to get the package to me. these are really awesome to pull your hair out of your face when applying makeup or washing your face. when applying makeup, i just use the velcros. but, i don't like using them alone when i wash my face..like they're good for pulling back all the baby hairs that headbands miss, but my hair is layered, so i still need a headband and ponytail (for the back) also.
  • paul mitchell hot off the press hair spray (thermal protector when using hair appliances): my hair stylist used this on me a looooong time ago and i never got around to buy it because i still had a lot of my other spray. i love it! the scent is night and not like a regular hair spray, but if you use too much it has that sticky feel (not clumpy) like regular hair spray. i spray a bit before using the flat iron and a little bit afterward and my hair stays straight the whole day.

  • bath and body works/white barn thanksgiving candle: this is a love it or hate it scent. to me, it smells like sweet potato casserole with a hint of caramel. for reals, it smells like your house on thanksgiving or christmas day..and food. yummy yummy food.
  • bath and body works/white barn leaves candle: i never ever picked this candle up before, thinking that it would smell super earthy (like dirt), grassy, etc. butttt after seeing/hearing everyone..and their mom..on youtube raving about this candle, i had to at least smell it, right? i love it too! unfortunately this is a fall-only scent and not year round..but a certain texas candle company makes a dupe of this, called leaves type, and that company's daughter makes a wonderful smelling matching soap. anyway. this is an awesome fall, apple, earthy, sweet scent. super love it! >w<
  • DIY cup holders/makeup brush holders: ever since i saw elle & blair's post about reusing bbw candle jars and using them as cup holders, etc. i've been "making" a bunch. rather than doing exactly what they say on the post, i've been burning them all the way down, putting them on my candle warmer (from cbv) and pouring the wax into a disposable bowl. also, take out the wicks at this point. then i let the bowl cool some..or stick it in the freezer like they said, and now i've got wax for the tart warmer for later! then i follow the remaining instructions with removing the labels and soaking it in hot soapy water. then if you want, you can let them be or you can dress them up by hot gluing a cute ribbon or pattern or something! you can also fill them with rice, beads, rocks, etc. to fill the bottom some. note: this process is a little different for colored candle jars from bbw; it's probably best if you use a clear jar from them. these are painted glass, not colored glass; so if you use something harsh (like steel wool--lol) to remove the labels, you'll remove the paint that's on the outside of the jar (see photo).
