end of october haul & notd (edited)

haul time! i actually have something at the bottom of this post that hasn't come in yet, but i wanted to get this post up because of the nordstrom coupon info below. happy halloween and stay safe! later!

i've finally got my hands on lynnderella's connect the dots! got it from her ebay store: lynnderella-lynnderella. please note that this polish practically takes an art to apply. it is glitter in a suspension base and cannot be merely swiped on. if you do swipe it, you'll wipe some of the glitter you've applied off; you almost have to glob it down in place. if you want a more even mix of the two colors on your nail, you need to fish some of the other color out; making it a slow and sort of tedious process. originally, i thought that this polish contained only solid black and white circles (actually, they're hexagons--see the giant one on my middle finger) and bars, but it actually has fine, shimmering silver/gray glitter as well. in the bottle, the base has a gray tint to it, so i'm not sure if that's how all of them are or not, but it altered the appearance of my base color (opi's zombody to love, 3 coats). also, i tried to get a shot of them glowing (like last time) but i fail at it apparently. so i apologize. it's not happenin'.

i also hear/saw that ninja polish's sticks and stones is a pretty good dupe.

[photo is from last week -- if you're wondering]

bbw: i got my leaves wallflowers! leaves oil for my oil burner, and a bottle of forever red perfume. so i mentioned that they're having 2-$15 or 3-$20 wallflower refill packs, so i got three---if you haven't ordered them before, the plastic packaging tends to crack in transit (see top left one), but the bulbs have always been fine. also, as a promotional thing, they're have their new forever red perfume on sale for $5 (reg.$10), as well as $5 for bottles of forever red oil--which i didn't realize they had til just now...... but anyway; i really like this. it doesn't go above my givenchy play by any means, but it's a nice warm, earthy and vanilla-y mix. and i feel that it was released at an appropriate time of year, considering the scent. will i rebuy it? most probably, i'll probably be more inclined to get it on sale than at regular price though.
update: i think this bottle of forever red is just a small promo size (.25oz). it's $44.50 for 2.5oz bottle; along with a few other bath and body items.

hautelook*, in conjunction with nordstrom (their owner), made a daily deal mascara bag ($24+s/h) with the following 12 mini mascaras: giorgio armani eyes to kill, bareMinerals flawless definition, bobbi brown lash glamour extreme lengthening, clinique high impact mascara, estée lauder sumptuous extreme lash multiplying volume, lancôme definicils hd mascara, napoleon perdis long black, smashbox full exposure, stila stay all day volumizing waterproof, trish mcevoy high volume, ysl volume effet faux cils, and a surprise bonus mascara -- dior diorshow. i'm super excited about this because a full size of eyes to kill is $30 alone, and there's a large variety to try. so, i literally got this package yesterday and saturday is the mascara sale/coupon--which sucks for other people who want to take advantage of this coupon. so yeah. not happening, but i think i've got plenty to use for now!

beauty.com: i had some drugstore.com rewards dollars to use this month, plus a $10 off $40 beauty.com coupon, so almost $16 off plus ebates*! so i got too faced's la creme lipstick in honey bear ($21), lorac 3D liquid lustre in gold ($16), and jack black lip balm in mint & shea butter ($7.50). i really like honey bear a lot. i was expecting it to be close to one of the revlon lip butters (sugar plum, pink truffle) or clinique's buttershine delovely..but it's not! lol. but i still really like it, it's a pinky-tanish-nude...something like that. the lip balm is actually better than expected. xsparkage swears by it; it's in a lip gloss style tube and it comes out almost ointment-like, but it feels soft and smooth, like a balm. it's interesting and nice. and lastly, i didn't know until somewhat recently that lorac made a gold version of the 3D liquid lustre. so yeah, had to. these are relatively inexpensive if you think about it. i know i've posted before somewhere about the "diamond"/original one, but a little goes a very long way. they come in dropper-style glass bottles, and you need to shake them before each use as the glitter settles. then, dab the dropper on to your finger--do not squeeze the dropper's contents out! and apply it to wherever you wish. not going to lie, but i think i like the gold one a bit more than the diamond one.

no flash, flash
comparison: gold & diamond; over ud buck (naked1) and blackout (naked2)

too faced honey bear: no flash, flash

lush: traded in 5 black pots for a free face mask and got a the enchanter bath bomb! when we got home, i opened the jar to smell the face mask and paul pretended to take a spoon to it. it smells so good!

the london brush company: got another one of their brush shampoos, it's the "2012 limited edition holiday" one that is "orange, ginger & nutmeg" scented. maybe i'll like the scented one more than the fragrance free? the fragrance free, i think the smell issues i had before with it: i haven't noticed it lately, so i'm wondering if it was because it was new or if i'm doing something differently.....i dunno. i'm not entirely sure i'll buy another after this though, as they've increased their prices: 1oz is $22, 2oz is $36 +s/h (from $13 & $20). the only reason why i got this one was because it sounded interesting and was $18.

notd: the muse's attitude & pirouette my whistle

here's another nail of the day! the muse's attitude is from l'oreal's project runway collection--it should still be in stores, i got it from target over a week ago--, with opi's pirouette my whistle (from the nyc ballet collection--aveyou.com) on top. pmw is really hard to apply; it's not something you can swipe on and go. you need to actually make sure there's glitter on the brush and, essentially, place globs onto your nail. regardless, this is how it came out. i wish this would have photographed better--but i'm kinda too lazy (and busy--i have 5 exams this week!) to retake it in better lighting. sorreh! the muse's attitude is a really pretty, shimmery dark teal green. ~Lin-chan ^.~

daily (lazy) makeup routine

hi everyone! so lately..since i haven't been doing movies/tv shows and since i'm back in school, here's my lazy everyday routine that i've pretty much always had. which is basically no foundation, and the following after moisturizer:
  • primer --- i have a bunch of samples i've been going through one by one lately, but my fave is by too faced in original (pink tube); i'll get back to it eventually when i finish all of these!
  • concealer --- benefit boi-ing 1
  • translucent powder --- theBalm sexy mama; when i come home for my lunch break, i've been dusting on elf's translucent mattifying powder
  • bronzer --- too faced pink leopard
  • blush --- benefit dandelion
  • eyeshadow --- l'oreal one sweep in natural for brown eyes → the epitome of lazy
  • eyeliner --- i have a bunch of browns/blacks that i keep alternating; lowers only
  • urban decay de-slick spray
  • mascara --- alternating three different ones right now; used after de-slick so that there aren't any wet mascara marks when i squint and spray! (the great lash is blue, so i use that occasionally on my lower lashes but that's about it..); no lash curler--i have one but i hardly use it
  • nyx eyebrow shaper (brow wax in pencil form)
  • lip balm

notd: nails inc. houses of parliament

hihi all! hubhub's back and he even picked out my nail polish for the week! i asked what color i should change to then pulled out all the purple ones, and he picked this one. i used china glaze's magnet (chevron side) instead of the one that comes with this polish. ~L-c ^.~

shopping trip/haul day!

hi all! went out and about today, on this glorious paul-free weekend! =P ULL had fall break this past week, so paul's brother wanted to hang out back home, but i didn't feel like going back home...so yeah. pshh, where's our fall break? thanks issac. only two of my classes are canceling because they accounted for it from the start. >.> ~Lin-chan ^.~

got an email the other day about lush's halloween items, so i went to check them out. in addition to these, they had the twilight body wash. but after smelling it, i think i'd rather it in bath bomb form rather than body wash..and the smallest is $10 for 3.3 oz. yikes! i got: (halloween items:) pumpkin soap & calacas shower jelly; rocketeer bath bomb, charity pot lotion, wiccy magic muscles massage bar, and (not pictured) space girl bath bomb. the pumpkin soap smells awesome, i'm tempted to go back and get another one!

so, hopefully you can see this little guy's face! you can kinda see it better on the lush site. it kinda looks like mexican skull art.

went to bath and body works because, of course, i had a coupon and they were having 2 for $20 candles--which, i didn't discover until recently, you can buy odd quantities of candles during this sale at $10 each, as long as you buy the initial 2--so i got 3 leaves candles. then i got some scentportable refills, they were buy 3 get one free--one's in my car already--3 leaves & a farmstand apple. i was sad that they were completely out of leaves wallflowers. i got 3 a few weeks back, put all of them around the apartment and i need more! i'll have to try again later. back to the coupon: i had a 20% off your entire purchase and a free mini candle (eucalyptus mint). all for a total of ~$35 including tax.

after leaving the mall, i went over to target and discovered that they finally got the maybelline limited edition color tattoos and got all four of those. almost no one mentioned anything about there being limited edition great lash mascaras to go along with these! got a few elf products to try; $1 ea: zit zapper, smoothing lip balm in strawberry creme, waterproof eye liner, and $3 ea: brush shampoo, and translucent matifying powder. first impression on the eyeliner: i like how it's a felt tip and it's very stiff, seems easy to control. first impression of the lip balm: it's very soft and smooth, so be careful when applying, gives a slightly frosted pinkness to lips, smells like strawberries. and recently, jlovesmac1--someone so quirky you'll love her or hate her--mentioned eos shaving cream. so for $3.50, why not? i got vanilla bliss, but this store also had sensitive (unscented). eos products are usually found in the cosmetics section, but this was on the actual aisle with shaving products.

shadows: blue on by, ready set green, test my teal, fuscia fever; mascaras: go go green, totally teal, pop of purple; elf eye liner
yes, i swatched the mascaras! lol.

edit: bath and body works is having a 2 for $15 or 3 for $20 on wallflower refill packs (2 bulbs), ends 11/4. 20% off code: rmnoctbbw (end unknown) or free ship @$50: BBWSHIP50 (ends 10/16)
edit: i saw the eos shave cream at bed bath and beyond too!
