haul time! i actually have something at the bottom of this post that hasn't come in yet, but i wanted to get this post up because of the nordstrom coupon info below. happy halloween and stay safe! later!
i've finally got my hands on lynnderella's connect the dots! got it from her ebay store: lynnderella-lynnderella. please note that this polish practically takes an art to apply. it is glitter in a suspension base and cannot be merely swiped on. if you do swipe it, you'll wipe some of the glitter you've applied off; you almost have to glob it down in place. if you want a more even mix of the two colors on your nail, you need to fish some of the other color out; making it a slow and sort of tedious process. originally, i thought that this polish contained only solid black and white circles (actually, they're hexagons--see the giant one on my middle finger) and bars, but it actually has fine, shimmering silver/gray glitter as well. in the bottle, the base has a gray tint to it, so i'm not sure if that's how all of them are or not, but it altered the appearance of my base color (opi's zombody to love, 3 coats). also, i tried to get a shot of them glowing (like last time) but i fail at it apparently. so i apologize. it's not happenin'.
i also hear/saw that ninja polish's sticks and stones is a pretty good dupe.
[photo is from last week -- if you're wondering]
update: i think this bottle of forever red is just a small promo size (.25oz). it's $44.50 for 2.5oz bottle; along with a few other bath and body items.
hautelook*, in conjunction with nordstrom (their owner), made a daily deal mascara bag ($24+s/h) with the following 12 mini mascaras: giorgio armani eyes to kill, bareMinerals flawless definition, bobbi brown lash glamour extreme lengthening, clinique high impact mascara, estée lauder sumptuous extreme lash multiplying volume, lancôme definicils hd mascara, napoleon perdis long black, smashbox full exposure, stila stay all day volumizing waterproof, trish mcevoy high volume, ysl volume effet faux cils, and a surprise bonus mascara -- dior diorshow. i'm super excited about this because a full size of eyes to kill is $30 alone, and there's a large variety to try. so, i literally got this package yesterday and saturday is the mascara sale/coupon--which sucks for other people who want to take advantage of this coupon. so yeah. not happening, but i think i've got plenty to use for now!
beauty.com: i had some drugstore.com rewards dollars to use this month, plus a $10 off $40 beauty.com coupon, so almost $16 off plus ebates*! so i got too faced's la creme lipstick in honey bear ($21), lorac 3D liquid lustre in gold ($16), and jack black lip balm in mint & shea butter ($7.50). i really like honey bear a lot. i was expecting it to be close to one of the revlon lip butters (sugar plum, pink truffle) or clinique's buttershine delovely..but it's not! lol. but i still really like it, it's a pinky-tanish-nude...something like that. the lip balm is actually better than expected. xsparkage swears by it; it's in a lip gloss style tube and it comes out almost ointment-like, but it feels soft and smooth, like a balm. it's interesting and nice. and lastly, i didn't know until somewhat recently that lorac made a gold version of the 3D liquid lustre. so yeah, had to. these are relatively inexpensive if you think about it. i know i've posted before somewhere about the "diamond"/original one, but a little goes a very long way. they come in dropper-style glass bottles, and you need to shake them before each use as the glitter settles. then, dab the dropper on to your finger--do not squeeze the dropper's contents out! and apply it to wherever you wish. not going to lie, but i think i like the gold one a bit more than the diamond one.
no flash, flash
comparison: gold & diamond; over ud buck (naked1) and blackout (naked2)
too faced honey bear: no flash, flash
lush: traded in 5 black pots for a free face mask and got a the enchanter bath bomb! when we got home, i opened the jar to smell the face mask and paul pretended to take a spoon to it. it smells so good!
the london brush company: got another one of their brush shampoos, it's the "2012 limited edition holiday" one that is "orange, ginger & nutmeg" scented. maybe i'll like the scented one more than the fragrance free? the fragrance free, i think the smell issues i had before with it: i haven't noticed it lately, so i'm wondering if it was because it was new or if i'm doing something differently.....i dunno. i'm not entirely sure i'll buy another after this though, as they've increased their prices: 1oz is $22, 2oz is $36 +s/h (from $13 & $20). the only reason why i got this one was because it sounded interesting and was $18.
