so here's a few more items, in addition to my last post. ~L-c ^.~

these are little ballet flats that we found on sale at bed bath & beyond a while back; they were like $3-4 each (reg. ~$15)
and my purse is from david's bridal, dyed ivory...but you can't really tell aside from the dye smell...

this is a ms. & mrs. mini-mergency kit, purchased at sephora, but you can also buy them here.
i know that shelling out $13 for little sample sized products is kind of a lot, but think about it, it's super compact, portable
and has all the necessities in case you are out and about and something crazy happens!

this set includes: 1 stain remover towelette, 1 nail polish remover pad, 1 deodorant towelette, 2 200mg advil tablets, 3 strips double sided fabric tape, sample of blistex ointment, waxed mint dental floss, 1 bandaid, a mini nail file, a compact tampon, (full size?) ice drops breath freshener, tiny bottle hair spray, small bottle clear nail polish, a mini sewing kit with 2 buttons and a safety pin, 2 clear hair elastics, 2 replacement earring backs, and of course, a little zipper bag to carry everything in.

an update.

hi everyone! so i wanted to update you guys; i've registered to be a student again today. it's not official until my application fee is processed ^^; but i wanted to let you guys know that i'm planning on starting back up in the summer intersession "semester" for ISDS. i've had a lot on my mind regarding this and what the future will bring. ganbarimasu! ~L-c ^.~

another wedding update

so while cake/bakery shopping we saw some pictures that had ring pull bracelets, instead of traditional strips of ribbon. so to anyone who is not from the south (or just doesn't know..) this is what ring pulls are about. anyway; mom made some bracelets after seeing some ideas on etsy. we still need to buy the charms but yeah. >w< ~Lin-chan ^.~

wedding accessories/honeymoon update

so i don't think i've ever made a post about my wedding accessories yet, i think i mentioned that i bought them, just not what they were. so here ya go! the jewelry are individually sold pieces by givenchy (earrings, bracelet, necklace), and my shoes (sytle: julianne) are dyed ivory; they're not white. i also think that i've neglected an update on the honeymoon. our plans are to stay at a local b&b a couple days before leaving, going to anaheim for a few days, and then escondido/san diego. ~L-c ^.~

i also bought two pairs of small, cubic zirconia earrings from claire's for the other holes in my ears (i have 7)

an early birthday outing!

hey guys! so since i signed up to be an extra again, i will be working on my birthday, boo. money, yay! anyway; so teh paul took me to BR cheesecake bistro and i got a croque madame. yummmmm! they busted my egg! *sadface* ... even bigger *sadface*: the NO cheesecake bistro doesn't even have comfort food on the menu!! hoity-toity "upscale" jerks; we were super disappointed a few weeks back when we went. then we shopped for a bit at the mall and went to bacio di roma for some gelato! we've never been before but we got a pint ($7) of white chocolate and strawberry. it was pretty good! we could have gone a little more on the strawberry than the white chocolate, which tasted like slightly-different-regular-chocolate..... ~Lin-chan ^.~

 

then for our shopping trip, we went to a few places, but the main mission was sephora--which, remind me next time to not bring teh paul along, he was upset at how much i spent... he did, however, hit the nail on the head: "i think makeup is more of a hobby for you; trying out new stuff," etc. ..glad that's clear. i apologize to those who need makeup/beauty products. i will say that i need products to contain my oily skin, but makeup is not a necessity to me. nor am i insecure about my facial appearance--just my acne scars on my back and shoulders, which no one really sees much anyway so it's not a big deal. lately, i've been wearing makeup daily to use up the multitude of products i have accumulated, or giving it away.

anyway! so i got a bottle of deslick for the movie--so hopefully this, in conjunction with some oil sheets, will help. then, i wanted yeyo (white UD pencil) for a while..i don't really know why..highlighting/brightening??? and then i got lip insurance because, between it and a couple other lip primers (UD and MAC), i liked this one the most. and finally, i used 100 sephora points for the tiny bottle of purity made simple.

no, i didn't get new sheets or whatever. there was a power outage at/by my apartment (for 6 hours!!!) and i hung out at paul's for a while..

walmart grocery--a haul?

while shopping for groceries the other day, i bought a couple things. first is clean and clear oil sheets and secondly, maybelline's instant age rewind finishing powder (in buff beige, to go with these). while i was working on the movie shoot the other day, i realized that i don't really have oil sheets or use them often, but in humid LA, working in a room that had a lot of hot water/humidity i got super oily. not to mention that i have oily skin as it is... anyway, so that's why i got that. and then the finishing powder..i couldn't find this shade anywhere else--weird huh, walmart grocery is ahead of the pack! anyway, later. ~L-c ^.~

nails of the day! butter london disco biscuit

hey guys! it's another nail of the day post! today i used butter london's disco biscuit. i used three coats, but you can still see the whites of my nails..booooo. anyway; this polish dries kind of textured due to the glitter. compared to how it looks in the bottle, it's not as pretty/glittery; it mainly looks like i have hot pink nails. oh well. ~L-c ^.~

more nail polish! yesterday, i was really in search for finger paints twisted and flecked, going to 3 different stores. but based on what i'm seeing on ebay etc., twisted's rare... like $45 (buy it now) rare. and flecked is about $15 online now. 太不好了！ and i ordered something from sephora and who let the dorks out? was on sale. ~L-c ^.~

mini review: maybelline clear mascara/brow gel

hi everyone! so i haven't actually used this as a mascara, i bought it to use as brow gel. and compared to the anastasia brow gel, this is totally ineffective. it comes out very watery and dries slowly. it lasts a short while and doesn't clump--anastasia kind of clumps in an unnoticeable way. but i feel like the maybelline one doesn't keep them in place and they're just there, free to move about..

verdict: don't buy it to use as a brow gel. maybe it works well as a mascara--i don't know, but go for anastasia brow gel instead.

so i've barely made a dent into this book (10 pgs)...too distracted yesterday on the set to read anything... ~Lin-chan ^.~

sally beauty supply mini haul!

went to sally's today--yes the BR one was open, the two in metairie/kenner weren't >.> and got stuck in traffic because i should have known better that the sally's near my house would be closed seeing as though it's veterans. and mardi gras day. and parades. i mean, come on. right. >>big dummy<< anyway. it took me an extra hour to get home, maneuvering around the parade traffic because i didn't get back onto w. esplanade soon enough TT_TT. so! that brings us to our haul. i had a 15% off your purchase coupon (of which, they emailed me reminding me to use it about an hour after i used it..........) and i got these, ~$14. ~Lin-chan ^.~

the first one, i'm not sure what it is..it's a nina ultra pro, but it looks like the sticker with the color's name was removed.. on clearance ($2.50)
two more finger paints flakies, these were the last two they had, i think i'll check other places, i really wanted to get twisted ($5 ea)
orly's primetime was like $1.30 on clearance, i wanted to try it out--i really like being able to buy small quantities for cheap and then deciding to repurchase larger or not.
a lot of people online have been raving about inm's out the door topcoat, so i got a tiny one to try it--$1, clearance

ulta (and cvs) haul!

went on a shopping trip to use my ulta reward points! i had a level 7, which level 7+ -- you get any combination of levels 1-6 up to whatever level you're at. see a better explanation here. anyway, so i got a hot tools tapered curling iron--my first curling iron ever, we'll see how that goes! =P and some cotton balls..... ~L-c ^.~

then i got these; maybelline and revlon are buy 2 get 1 free at ulta this week.

 
yes, yes... i got more lip butters.......... china glaze, opi, and confetti nail polishes, and maybelline instant age rewind eraser
foundation & concealers. i also got the peel off cucumber mask that michelle phan used in this video. it sounded interesting and for $4, worth a try!
  

strawberry shortcake looks like barbie pink on me due to my skintone..hmmm. i'll still use it, but probably not often. cupcake looks like a lighter, frosted
version of strawberry shortcake on me. i think that, out of these three, i'll wear cotton candy most--not more than peach parfait
or sugar frosting, but it's not so barbie looking on me. it's more of an average pink.
i'm so excited that i picked the right matches for the maybelline products! particularly when you can't open them in-store..well, not supposed to....

 
the pictures i took of sea ya later sailor didn't come out so great. it's too sheer and light colored that it didn't really show up; it looked interesting over black onyx.
techno is a chunky multi-glitter with fine silver glitter. ice ice baby works well over black--and probably a lot of other colors, but,
if you haven't noticed, i keep picking up blue/green polishes or glitter polishes etc. lol. blue's my favorite color. 

and as a side note... remember this mess??? well, mom had an empty bare minerals container..and voilà! i haven't tried it this way yet, but i'll let you guys know how it compares.

 

edit: lol i love how my 30 days of anime tag is so much larger than the rest, "the rest" being the wedding tag. i think it's a recency thing, in addition to the fact that i pre-posted through day 23 already. ^^;

a brief shopping trip

mom and i went on a quick shopping trip to target before the parades and this is what i picked up! the hunger games trilogy has been real popular lately--and the movie's coming out soon--so i decided to get the first book to have some sort of entertainment while i stand around (not doing a whole lot) makin' money on the movie set. and i forgot my anastasia brow gel, so i picked up maybelline's clear mascara/brow gel. it seems to work about the same as the anastasia, we'll see. anyway, later. ~Lin-chan ^.~

update: mom's interested in buying me the camera i want for my birthday! w00t!

life. (updated)

ever have those times where an awesome opportunity comes along and then something in life comes crashing down, making you unable to pursue said opportunity?
well that's how i feel, except...it's a short-term opportunity (a couple days) and my grandfather's brother lost his battle to mesothelioma earlier this week.

in short, i signed up to be an extra in a movie, and due to the funeral arrangements, i am in limbo about being able to work at the yet-to-be-determined time. and it'd be my first time as an extra. it frustrates me that i finally found some sort of temporary work (to earn a little bit of money) and now i might not be able to do it. and i mean, yes, i know that family comes first and i need to --and will-- attend the funeral, but it's all so very frustrating. ~L-c ^.~
