erin condren hourly life planner - my july

hi guys! i think i've decided that i'll stop making actual 'work update' posts since i've hit over a year and nothing is that interesting anymore. (unless something interesting for realz does happen, it might be separate.) and i'll combine any tidbits about my life along with this and any future life planner posts. unfortunately, in doing so that would mean that nearly all of my posts are once monthly now, since i've been irregular with other types of posts. hmmm.. que sera sera. ~Lin-chan ^.~
also, since it didn't really fit anywhere else -- song of the month: knife party boss mode. love it.

onto the pre-written part!
i wasn't really sure what to call this kind of post, because it's not a 'plan with me'. i'm not planning anything right now... i decided that it'd be easiest for me to just show you the planner spreads i had for the past month for this and future planner-related posts. and as i mentioned in my initial erin condren post, i'm not anticipating going super crazy with planner spreads. that's one of the reasons i opted for the hourly layout, aside from it being easier to keep track of meeting times. so i apologize in advance that maybe my life [planner] isn't all that interesting. but here you are, nonetheless.

so i feel like i need to preface a lot of the entries on here because not everyone knows about software development or the many different methodologies that development teams use. anyway, we're using agile which involves sprints, stand ups, and stories. in my project, sprints are two week blocks of time, and stand ups are short daily meetings that are basically status reports to let the team know your progress and any roadblocks. then, there are things called epics which are an overall desired functionality, stories are desired features for that epic, and tasks are individual things that can be done to complete a story. that being said, we had meetings called story time where we discussed the stories, asked questions, and estimate how much effort (in points) we believed would be required to complete the stories. additionally, we have sprint planning meetings at the start of each sprint to divvy out who would work on what stories. demos for basically show and tell for what work has been done, and retrospective (retro) meetings to reflect on the good and bad from the last sprint, and give suggestions for improvement.
also, any "WFH Days" are work from home days. with the things happening around here this month and our office being in close proximity to several government buildings, we were advised to stay home for two days this month. for utilities/expenses--if you're wondering, the electric bill is in my name and i'm usually the one that remembers to turn in the rent, and paul handles all of our other joint expenses.

monthly calendar spread: so, this one is kind of lame. or at least relatively speaking. it was before i bought a ton of washi tape, and i used stickers i found in target's dollar spot. also, i didn't know what to do with some of the extra payday flag stickers that came with my august - december monthly spread kits, so i put teh paul's paydays on here.
week 1so i somewhat intentionally miscounted the number of weeks in this planner (78) when I was buying all of my hydrate stickers. plannerpenny's sheets have 14 each (5x14=70). for the remaining 8, i wanted to get ahappybluetree's weekly stickers, but i caught my stickeriffic order on a 50% off sale, so instead i ordered 41 days worth (counting the sample), which is not quite enough for 8 full weeks. so i ended up using these stickers on holiday weeks where i knew i'd probably not drink as much water anyway. this one ended up being an extra, so i filled in the droplets with my relative daily intake.
week 2: for those who may not have known..i had a tire blow out on my way to my aunt's house on 4th of July. so i didn't actually make it to her house and i had to buy tires the following day... a few weeks prior to this happening, i told teh paul that the steering was funny (not to mention my last car had an egg in one of the tires too), but you know women obviously don't know anything about cars. "what are you doing on the side of the road?!" idk? bc i wanted to go from 70+ to 0 in the grass! there was a nice runway/indentation in the grass behind it. thankfully there were only minor scratches in the clear coat on my car on the front where it went down. i also tried posting this pic to instagram while we were waiting for roadside, but for whatever reason the signal in paul's car was non-existant and it worked by mine......wtf. also, word to the wise: my car came with a tire goo kit. buy yourself a nice spare on the internets because tire goo's not gonna fix this. i got mine on ebay for about $70 (a few years ago) from a dealership along the east coast and it came with a jack set.
sidenote: i do not recommend that white with silver stars tape i got from a popsugar box. it's too heavy and a bit hard to work with.
week 3: gpass is our password for my client's email and other services. due diligence is referring to reviewing stories before story time. the yellow dots and owl were migraine days, and there should be enough context clues for the blue dot.
week 4: not a very exciting week. i had to drive back home for jury duty, which thankfully didn't last the whole day and i'm exempt for the next two years--w00t!
week 5: so i didn't know what to do with some of my sample stickers...so they ended up on saturday and sunday of this week. and no, i didn't actually go to mecha, but i hope that those who did had tons of fun!
notes page: as a way to de-stress, i sat for a few days making each row of designs. some of them were well thought out..others not so much. more like i was trying to replicate designs i made years ago, but i had the wrong "image" in mind when making some. after finishing, i was like man..some of these don't look right. and i found my originals, and sure enough..the originals were way better, and some of these look dumb. haha. oh well.
