我的天！i made it to one year!!! 太棒了！

hi guys! guess what? today officially marks one year of questioning life choices! tempus fugit. at the very least effective next month, i get a raise and a promotion! w00t.
today was a pretty freakin busy day! i got invited to the breakfast of champions -- as i will call it -- for people who got promotions at our office, there's a lot of us. then i had to leave halfway through to attend two consecutive client meetings. for lunch, some of my remaining fellow onboarding cohorts and i went out to celebrate the occasion at a nearby restaurant that i'd never tried before. it was really good! >w< afterward, i didn't really get much done since there wasn't much time. and lastly, our office had the usual quarterly meeting and after party. ~L-c ^.~

while i still have my reservations about the various things and happenings in my office (as mentioned in my last work post), i'm still doing well with my project. a few weeks ago, my project lead came in town again and told me that things (team dynamics) would be changing pretty soon in our office -- but i'm still safe, and the client still likes me. why thank you. thank you for the mini heart attack, then say that i'm still in the clear. anyway, with all of that said, the two people i was complaining communicating about before have since been taken off our project, along with a third who unfortunately couldn't keep up the pace -- or that's what they're telling us. since the start of this project (early february), the team in our office quickly doubled, and now it's dropped by half. it's crazy!
along the way, they've started giving me more focused tasks to work on. i think i mentioned before that we're in two different teams. one of them is for the shopping experience and the other is for purchasing stuff on the client's webstore. i'm on the former team, and more specifically, i am being aligned with developing product search functionality, which is pretty cool. i get to learn something new and different, relative to the other developers on the team.
other than that, i took my first vacation day for the year last week. making a total of 3 days off since the beginning of the year (new year's & memorial day). sadly, that day off was so i could go to the dentist, back home. oh yay~! hopefully around the end of summer, we can take a vacation but i'm not sure since go live for my client's project is sometime around then.
